VISIONS FOR NIGERIA FOUNDATION HOLDS PEACE SEMINAR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HWPL

On June 21, 2024, Visions for Nigeria Foundation (VFN) hosted a significant peace seminar in its office, marking the actualization of a pivotal project in Nigeria. This event, graced by numerous participants and volunteers, was held in partnership with Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international peace NGO dedicated to global peace and the cessation of war.

Founded by Chairman Lee, HWPL is a non-governmental organization registered with the Seoul Metropolitan Government of the Republic of Korea. It is associated with the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC) and holds Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Chairman Lee, born in a poor farming country and a descendant of a king, experienced the harsh realities of war during World War II as a frontline combat soldier. The devastating impact of war on lives and communities inspired him to create HWPL, aiming to foster peace worldwide.

HWPL’s mission is encapsulated in the Declaration of World Peace, striving to achieve global peace through heavenly culture and restoring the global community with light. The organization actively carries out peace activities across the world, focusing on the cessation of war and conflict.

A cornerstone of HWPL’s efforts is the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), proclaimed on March 14, 2016. This document provides legal means to ensure a peaceful world, giving people the opportunity to speak out and encouraging civil society to adhere to its principles. The DPCW aims to prevent the possibility of international conflicts by fostering a culture of peace and dialogue.

HWPL collaborates with governments and international organizations to adopt the DPCW at the international level. Since its founding, HWPL has embarked on peace tours worldwide, signing peace agreements with various entities, including governments, schools, media agencies, and civil society organizations. Their “Legislate Peace” project, WARP Offices, Peace Academies, and volunteer work are instrumental in creating peace in different regions.

Achieving World Peace: Both HWPL and Visions for Nigeria Foundation aim to achieve world peace through heavenly culture and restoring the global community with light. They carry out peace activities worldwide.

Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals: These organizations contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by spreading a culture of peace through education, forums, volunteer work, campaigns, and more. Their activities will continue until sustainable peace is assured for future generations.

It is everyone’s duty to resolve existing causes of conflict and pursue harmonious coexistence.

HWPL declared in 2013 that a new international legal instrument was needed to end wars and bring peace to the global community. This led to the DPCW’s proclamation in 2016, reflecting HWPL’s commitment to introducing the DPCW into international law.

All 7.7 billion people living in the 21st century share the mission of being messengers of peace.
